In the United States, Tesla customers pay a higher price for the FSD autonomy option than other regions – but they also get a larger range of functions. However, according to current statements by CEO Elon Musk, these differences should soon level off: The entire Tesla world should get stop functions this year, which are currently only available to a small number of US customers, he announced on Twitter. In return, Tesla also wants to increase the price of the FSD option outside the United States, probably on July 1.
Tesla customers in USA first
Just recently, Tesla had launched a version of the first US participants of its Early Access Program for early software updates that no longer only recognizes red traffic lights and stop signs, as has been the case since Christmas 2019 in the USA and, more recently, in Europe Case is: At Teslas with purchased FSD, the electric car now stops automatically on these signals. As Musk now informed on Twitter, he hopes that this new function will be available to all US customers in a few weeks.
Europe and the rest of the world, on the other hand, have to wait a bit as usual – the regulators here are sometimes stricter or slower in the USA. In Europe, for example, the Smart Summon function is severely restricted, with which Tesla owners in other countries can drive their cars independently via private parking lots. Tesla even had to update its autopilot capabilities in Europe with an update in order not to violate regulations.

The FSD option (Full Self-Driving or Full Potential for Autonomous Driving) currently costs 6,300 euros in Germany and 7,000 dollars plus taxes in the USA.
