Sales of new cars in Morocco stood at 96,505 units at the end of July 2024, up 2.08% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).
By segment, new registrations of private vehicles (PV) increased by 0.51% to 86,749 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles (LCV) climbed by 18.57% to 9,756 units, AIVAM said in its monthly statistics.
The “Dacia” brand dominates the passenger vehicle segment, with a market share of 26.04%, or 22,587 new registrations, followed by Renault which sold 13,417 units (market share of 15.47%) and Hyundai (7,048 units and 8.12% market share).
In terms of light commercial vehicles (LCVs), Renault sold 2,334 units, or 23.92% market share, ahead of Ford, which saw its sales climb to 1,355 units (13.89% market share) and DFSK (1,106 units for 11.34% market share).
For the month of July 2024 alone, sales statistics show 12,701 units sold for the passenger car segments and 1,518 for the light commercial vehicle segment, for a total of 14,219 vehicles, recording an increase of 8.42% compared to July 2023.
