Automated Radars to Crack Down on Traffic Violations in Qatar Starting September 27th

Doha: Automated radars, an innovative system to prevent traffic violations in Qatar, will be operational from the 27th. Not wearing a seat belt, using a mobile phone while driving will be detected by these radars and fined.

Violators will not be fined from 27th to 2nd September as part of the awareness campaign. But the authorities have informed that the fine will be charged from September 3.

A fine of 500 riyals will be levied for not wearing seat belt and using electronic devices including phone while driving.

Even if the passengers are wearing clothes of the same color as the seat belt, the radar can detect it. Violation will then be reported on Metrash 2 along with images and fined.
