Kottayam ∙ A lottery ticket which was left in the dustbin at home as there was no prize was struck for Rs 1 crore. CK Sunilkumar (53) of Mulavattam Cheruveetil Vadakketil realized that it was a great luck to have rolled the cigar when he got suspicious and looked at the result again. The first prize of the fifty-fifty lottery drawn on Wednesday was won by this autodriver at the Poovanthurut Plammud stand.
On Thursday morning, while reading the newspaper and looking at the results, I checked the numbers for the small prizes but found nothing and threw the ticket in the basket. While looking at the result again, I was lucky to see the first prize number. Luck struck Sunilkumar when he defaulted on his house mortgage. Mother Sarasamma, wife Bindu, daughter Sneha and son-in-law Jenif are happy with the lucky win.
