Auto show in Delhi: Chinese electric cars and a prototype solar car

The Auto Expo 2023 in the city of Noida, which forms a suburb of Delhi, India, opened its doors to a professional audience on Thursday, January 12. Except Suzuki eVX, the concept of the first electric car of this Japanese brand, as well as the five-door off-road version of the Jimny, shows many other cars.

In keeping with the times, many of them are electric, such as Kia EV9 concept or products of the once British, now Chinese MG brand. It brought the plug-in hybrid EHS and also the electric crossover 4, but also a sports car called the Midget, which it produced as a British car manufacturer in the 60s and 70s of the last century.

There is also the Tata Avinya electric car concept. It was presented for the first time in April 2022, but is now having its exhibition premiere. It looks like a crossover between the MPV and SUV classes and foreshadows an all-electric future for the Tata brand.

A closer version of the Tata Sierra, which was first presented as a concept in 2020 and is scheduled to go into mass production two years from now, also appeared in production. Toyota, Hyundai or Lexus also brought their electric or hydrogen concepts and production cars.

The small electric car Vayve Eva deserves a special mention, although it only has a 14kWh battery, but even with such little energy, it is said to be able to travel up to 250 km and offers the option of recharging with the sun. It is the first solar car of Indian origin. However, whether serial production will take place remains to be seen.
