Still no trace of little Marciano, an autistic child missing since Sunday in the Tour-Chabot district in Niort. A helicopter and divers came to lend a hand to the police who have been looking for the child for 48 hours.
The search intensified in Niort in the Tour-Chabot district to find the little Marciano missing since Sunday afternoon. A helicopter with a thermal camera flew over the area and in particular the Sèvre Niortaise which flows not far from the towers where the child lives. Two firefighter drones were also used. 10 divers from the firefighters’ nautical team intervened and teams scoured the banks. But so far, the child has not been found.
An investigation for a worrying disappearance has been open since Sunday around 4 p.m. when the child disappeared. A resident of the neighborhood had reported to the police having seen the little boy as she was about to return to her tower. She had asked him if he lived there, the child had nodded, but as the neighbor was going up the stairs, the child had then turned back and had disappeared.
Information has also reported his presence several hundred meters from the Tour-Chabot, in the Clou Bouchet sector. But then again, searches and door-to-door have nothing given.

The mother of the little boy, originally from the department of Guyana and who has lived in the neighborhood for several years with her three boys, was absent during the weekend when the child disappeared. The three boys had been entrusted to a close neighbor of the family. On her return to Niort, she was heard by the police. According to our colleagues from the new republic, she would have indicated to the investigators that the child could be in a nearby tower. But the search there also remained in vain.
