New York: A group of writers have filed a complaint against OpenAI and Microsoft, the creators of artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT. American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Eleven authors, including Robert Oppenheimer’s co-author Kay Baid, filed a lawsuit against the tech giants in Manhattan federal court.
It is alleged that the authors’ work was used without their permission to train AI models. The lawyers for the authors told the court that the two companies are making billions from the unauthorized use of non-fiction books and the authors of these books deserve a fair explanation and compensation for this. Meanwhile, Open AI and Microsoft have not responded on the issue.
