Puerto Morelos.- The Cabildo of Puerto Morelos authorized today, in its IV Ordinary Session, the change of legal status of a property belonging to the municipal patrimony and its donation to the Educational Services of Quintana Roo for the construction and operation of a public primary school.
In the session, headed by the municipal president Blanca Merari Tziú Muñoz, it was specified that the property in question is located in lot 1-02 of block 21, superblock 41, with an area of 4 thousand square meters.
It was clarified that, in the event that the Educational Services of Quintana Roo do not begin the work no later than in fiscal year 2022 or intend to give it a different use, they must return it to the municipality of Puerto Morelos to reintegrate it into their patrimony.
The councilor, President of the Education, Culture and Sports Commission, José M. Vera Uribe, thanked the donation of the property, which was managed without success from the previous administration, to reduce the educational backwardness.
In turn, the councilor, Manuel Tirso Esquivel Ávila, congratulated the Cabildo for facilitating the creation of new schools, but argued that the intervention of municipal authorities is also necessary to attend and rescue the educational infrastructure, as is the case of the Secondary October 1st Technique.
In response, the Municipal President stated that, once the project to donate the property for a primary school is finalized, they will work hand in hand with the educational authorities and parent committees so that the educational facilities of the municipality are in good condition.
