PARIS (dpa-AFX) – France’s health authority warns that the Corona cases will rise again. The new trend goes hand in hand with the increase in tests, the health agency Santé Publique France announced on Friday. Nevertheless, it shows that the transmission of the virus continues or even progresses. “The increase observed so far remains moderate, but requires extreme vigilance,” it said. “To prevent the epidemic from flaring up again, it is imperative that the population apply the recommended preventive measures rigorously.”
The agency observed that people did not stick to the measures. The prospect of summer vacation along with friends and family gatherings could favor an increase in infections. In general, the virus circulation is currently low. The agency estimates that around 6.7 percent of the French population was infected by mid-April. That corresponds to almost 4.4 million people.
