How exactly the funds will be distributed Shmyhal did not say

Recently, Ukraine received an irretrievable $ 2.7 billion from the IMF. The Cabinet is counting. that the funds will help restore the economy.

The $ 2.7 billion received from the IMF is planned to be spent on social benefits. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, August 26.

“These funds will contribute to macroeconomic stability, increase social benefits and support the Ukrainian economy on the way to its recovery,” the prime minister added.

He also noted that the receipt of these funds will not affect Ukraine’s implementation of the current IMF Stand-By program.

It is worth noting that Ukraine received the last tranche from the IMF last summer. In this regard, the authorities are planning negotiations on extension of the IMF stand-by for half a year.
