Miami-Dade rescuers said five people were transported to the hospital Saturday amid reports of a possible shooting at Aventura Mall.
The city of Aventura reported on its Twitter account that the police are handling an incident at the mall. All customers and employees will be escorted off the property, and access to the establishment will not be allowed until further notice.
Authorities arrived at the mall at 19501 Biscayne Boulevard around 3:39 p.m.
Videos posted to Twitter show crowds of customers leaving the mall, with some reporting hearing gunshots.
