NEW JERSEY — A 5-year-old boy was found dead in a bathtub inside a Newark apartment and authorities have now launched an investigation into the boy’s death.
Police were called after the boy was found unconscious in the bathtub after 7 p.m. Tuesday at a Washington Street apartment, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. The boy was taken to University Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the forensic physician. The child has not yet been identified.
An investigation is ongoing.
