Authorities in Asenovgrad withdrew aid for Major Terziev’s widow

The proposal for providing financial assistance to the family of the deceased Major Valentin Terziev has been withdrawn from the session of the municipal council in Asenovgrad, announced 24plovdiv.bg.

Last week, Mayor Dr. Hristo Grudev announced the local government’s desire to support the pilot’s family. There was an immediate reaction from his widow Dimitrina Popova on Facebook. There she wrote that no one asked her, and they were financially insured. Popova suspects attempts at political PR on the backs of her family and recommended that the funds be directed to others in need.

Yesterday, she again addressed the authorities with strong words and the people on his Facebook profile: “Thank you all for your empathy and support! To all our friends, to all acquaintances and colleagues of Valentin Terziev who I don’t know, to all other people I don’t know but are sympathetic to us. I need this support for a long time, because I’m starting now. I haven’t slept for six daysbecause 2 hours a night is hardly enough. I meet a lot of comments about financial support, financial security from the state, etc., etc., and I have questions, dear compatriots, how much do you value the life of a worthy Bulgarian? Aid of BGN 10,000, compensation of 20 gross salaries, another of BGN 1 million? Our family is above money – they are only a means, if received in the right way – with honest work. And this is the wrong one. The state to compensate us? This is your money. I will fight to the end, but not for money – for “fallen heads” of everyone in the chain and a complete change in the field (and not only this one). Let everyone bear the responsibility, not the life and death of one of the most wonderful people and professionals to go into existence, like “every miracle in three days”. My questions are to the last Minister “Patriot” Karakachanov: Why did you support a deal for “paper planes” for the distant 2027, and did not allocate funds “fresh money” to increase the current resource? Why are our pilots raiding 12 hours in 6 months? Why do you demand and agree to joint exercises, since you have not taken care of your people to have the necessary training and resources, but are sending them to perish in peacetime? Mr. Karakachanov, you are just as much a patriot for Bulgaria as you showed that Karaday is a week ago, and the whole government for the last 10 years. I will not resign myself until I see the guilty people in the right place. Wake up people, this government is killing us!
