Authorities have conducted searches of Andrew Tate’s apartments.
Known for his misogynistic comments on social media, Andrew Tate, along with his brother, are currently being investigated by Romanian police on suspicion of mistreating several women. They are currently awaiting trial on those charges, with sources suggesting that authorities are looking for additional evidence.
Following a tip-off, Romanian authorities conducted early morning raids on several properties linked to British-US influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, as confirmed by their legal team to “news.ro”.
The Tate brothers, as well as two alleged accomplices, are accused of human trafficking and exploitation of women in Romania. They are currently under house arrest awaiting trial. The Romanian Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Unit for Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) said that four properties were searched in connection with investigations into human trafficking and money laundering incidents. No suspects were named, but it was revealed that the investigation also concerns possible new crimes.
According to Romanian investigators, the Tates and their alleged accomplices forced young women to participate in explicit videos for commercial distribution. They used manipulative techniques to control the girls. Seven victims have been identified by authorities, three of whom are plaintiffs in the lawsuit. The Tates and their brother deny all allegations.
Andrew Tate rose to fame through his misogynistic statements on social media. He often boasted of his wealth by showing off luxurious sports cars and thick cigars, attracting millions of young people and men. The Tate brothers, as well as the alleged accomplices, were initially arrested in Bucharest on December 30, 2022, and their house arrest was later converted into a restriction prohibiting them from leaving Romania.
However, since August 2023, the defendants have been free – but on condition that they are not allowed to leave the country. Recently, they have been active on social media promoting racial unrest in the UK and other things.
