The authorities of the Kharkiv region are considering the possibility of mandatory evacuation of more than 11 thousand people from the front-line settlements of the Kupyansky district. This was announced by the head of the regional military administration (OVA) Oleg Sinegubov.

“Of the 53 settlements of the Kupyansky district, located close to the combat zone, mandatory evacuation of the civilian population and forced evacuation of children can be carried out. This issue was discussed today at the operational meeting in the OVA in connection with the aggravation of the operational situation. Approximately more than 11,000 people are subject to evacuation, including 600 children,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

At the same time, acting Head of the Kupyansk District Military Administration Andrey Kanashevich urged local residents to evacuate.

“We invite residents of the Kupyansky district to make a responsible and balanced decision on temporary departure to the safe territories of the Kharkiv region and Ukraine,” he wrote on the social network.

Kanashevich cited increased shelling and forest fires as reasons for the evacuation.
