Mexicali, February 12.- The Covid-19 vaccine booster is available in Baja California for all people 30 years and olderregardless of the brand of biological they received in their first doses.
This includes those young people aged 30 to 39 years who were immunized with the Johnson & Johnson firm vaccine, clarified the head of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, Efrén Zazueta Fierro. Currently, the booster available is from the AstraZeneca brand.
The Scientific Committee of Baja California reported in a statement a decrease in active cases, with a total of 1,681 in force in the entity.
446 new infections were addedof which 113 were registered in Mexicali, 221 in Tijuana, 41 in Ensenada, 19 in Tecate, seven in Rosarito, 44 in San Quintín and one in San Felipe.
In the last 24 hours, the death toll was updated with the sum of 35 patients who did not survive Covid, 14 from Mexicali and 21 from Tijuana.
The active cases are distributed as follows: 486 in the state capital, 597 in Tijuana, 327 in Ensenada, 95 in Tecate, 41 in Rosarito, 124 in San Quintín and 11 in San Felipe.
Referring to the hospital occupancy by Covid-19, it is reported that the hospitals of the Ministry of Health are at 45.78% and of the IMSS at 40.48%; in terms of employment in general in the Ministry of Health it is 53.40% and in the IMSS it is 57.99%.
Of the active cases, most are mild to moderate treated on an outpatient basis, while 140 are hospitalized not intubated and 61 patients have mechanical ventilation assistance.
