Polda Metro Jaya is working with Puspomad to reveal the distribution network weapon illegal fire using a fake identity. The network accounts for TNI AD officials to the Ministry of Defence.
“Fake identity here means falsifying membership cards and other identity cards including firearms cards on behalf of officials from the Army and the Ministry of Defense, so this is a fake identity,” said Dirkrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Hengki Haryadi, in a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters , Jakarta, Monday (21/8/2023).
Polda Metro Jaya together with Puspomad then arrested several suspects. One of the leaders of the network was arrested in Cianjur.
“We were able to arrest a number of suspects, including the figures we revealed in Cianjur, we caught them on top of the mountain,” he said.
In addition, the police also seized 44 weapons. The weapons consist of homemade weapons to factory weapons.
“Then we developed it so that we could confiscate 44 mixed weapons, meaning that here there are manufacturers, some are assembled, some are airguns and airsoft guns,” said Hengki.
Hengki explained that the weapons supplier had also been arrested. Now the suspect has been detained.
“We also arrested two suppliers, including from civilians, we have detained them,” said Hengki.
