700 ml milk, 100 g corn starch, 150 g sugar, 3 eggs, lemon and orange peel, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 piece of cinnamon stick, 20 g butter, vanilla essence.
For frying you also need:
1 egg, 75 g flour, 350 ml oil.
Method of preparation
Start by boiling 500ml of milk, along with a cinnamon stick and the zest of a lemon and an orange. Make sure the milk heats up well, but don’t let it boil. To allow the ingredients to blend in the flavors, cover the pan with a lid and leave it like this for about 15 minutes. Then mix well three egg yolks with 100 g of sugar. In another container, add 200 ml of milk and 100 g of cornstarch. Mix until the starch is completely dissolved, then pour this composition over the yolk mixture and mix again to obtain a homogeneous texture. Place the cinnamon, lemon and orange peels in the infused milk in a saucepan. Add the egg yolk-starch mixture and mix until thickened. Add the vanilla essence and room temperature butter to the saucepan. Pour the resulting composition into a tray covered with food foil and place foil on top. Put the tray in the fridge for at least three hours. Cut the composition into squares of approximately 5 cm. Beat an egg in one plate and put flour in another. Roll each piece in flour, then in egg and fry in hot oil. Now you just need to fry the milk pieces.
