The federal government loves the comparison. Germany in particular is often used by turquoise-green as an example to illustrate how well it can cope with the economic and health crisis. On Tuesday, Finance Minister Gernot Blümel (ÖVP) once again made a comparison: Austria would have suffered a relatively small economic slump compared to EU countries similarly shaped by tourism.
