VIENNA. The Austrian Post becomes a comic publisher. Together with the creative agency Kirschgrau and the customized hub agency Violet, Austrian Post has produced a comic book limited to 2,000 copies. The comic is based on animals from the crypto world, which have been the official crypto stamps of the Austrian Post for the last five years.
Now available is the 1st issue of “Crypto stamp Island: Return from Darkness,” expanding the world of Crypto stamp for comic book readers. The post is taking up the topic of community marketing, where the focus is no longer on classic advertising, but on the interests of a community.
Bringing comic readers and crypto fans together
“With our first comic book we are bringing comic readers and crypto fans together. To do this, we use the Crypto stamp as a platform and link it to the idea of community marketing. “In this way, we are once again turning a trend into a real use case and proving our innovative strength in communication,” explains Manuela Bruck, Head of Corporate Communications and Customer Relations at Österreichische Post AG.
With “Crypto stamp Island: Return from the Darkness” the Austrian Post is translating its innovation topic Crypto stamp into Intellectual Property (IP) in order to continue the story of the Crypto stamp. The comic book is published as a set together with four country editions of the new crypto stamp “Dragon” and contains its own NFT (Non-Fungible Token) that directly relates to the story of the comic. There is also an exclusive AR (augmented reality) activation in the magazine.
The comic books are numbered consecutively from 0001 to 2,000, making them unique collectibles both digitally and physically. The first 500 comics are available as a set with all four country editions of the Crypto stamp “Drache” in the Austrian Post online shop and are included in selected stamp subscriptions. Other comics are available as part of special sales, for example at the Vienna Comic Con.
