Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and his partner Zusane Tear are expecting their first child, the Associated Press reported.
Kurz announced the news on Facebook, adding that the two were “overwhelmed with joy and gratitude that we will soon be three.”
“Please understand that we will continue to keep our personal lives private. However, we are happy to share with you this joy, which will soon be obvious,” the chancellor was quoted as saying by BTA.
Kurz, 34, is under investigation by anti-corruption authorities on suspicion of making a false statement to a parliamentary committee investigating the Ibiza affair. This scandal led to the fall in power in 2019 of the then Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache and the previous government of Kurz.
Kurz denies the allegations and rejects calls for his resignation. /
