Austrian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Belfast Due to Medical Emergency Onboard

On the flight from Schwechat to New York JFK, an AUA machine (course OS 087) had to land at the airport in the Northern Irish capital of Belfast on Friday evening. This was reported by the aviation magazine Austrian Wings.

At 19:52 Austrian time, the “Alpha Zulu” touched down safely at Belfast Airport.

In a written statement, an AUA spokeswoman told the Austrian Wings editorial team that the emergency landing was due to a “medical emergency on board”. The airline did not provide any information on whether the acute health problems affected a passenger or a crew member.
