The loan change from Mönchengladbach’s Andreas Poulsen to Vienna should not be an isolated case for Austria.
As sports director Peter Stöger said in an interview published by the club on Thursday, the violets are aiming for similar transfers in the player sector. Austria has built up many contacts to Germany in this regard over the past six months.
“The response was very positive: The Austrian Bundesliga and Austria Vienna in particular are perceived as a very good partner. Basically, I see development opportunities in cooperation with clubs like Borussia Mönchengladbach, ”said Stöger.
Apart from the Danish left-back, the additions during the winter break will apparently be limited. “Only if there are boys left,” Austria will get more players, said Stöger. The financial situation at the club had not changed over Christmas. “We are continuing to work on improving our financial opportunities and winning strategic partners,” stressed Austrias sports director. In this regard, there are probably more opportunities to be active on the player market in summer.
