According to him, the Heidach gas storage, which Gazprom is currently using, is being transferred to another supplier. However, the main condition for this remains the refusal of the Russian side to fill the storage facility with fuel.
“Haida is of particular strategic importance. It provides Germany, as well as Tyrol and Vorarlberg. We have created framework conditions on the principle of “use it or lose it” in order to force the issue of energy security towards winter,” Nehammer said.
Note that the Haidach gas storage facility is the largest in Austria. Currently, its occupancy rate is 0.0%.
