The main suspect in the planned attacks on Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna is denying his involvement in the plot, Austrian news agency APA reported today.
The 19-year-old suspect has said through his lawyer that he is not a supporter of the Islamic State terrorist group and did not plan to carry out attacks at Swift’s concerts earlier this week.
After the man’s arrest, authorities said he had confessed and confessed to his plan. His lawyer now says the client just wanted to be “cool”.
The suspect, whose family is from North Macedonia, made explosives following instructions from the internet and wanted to test them in a forest, but never intended to kill people, his lawyer argued.
Asked about the knives and other weapons found in his possession, she said the 19-year-old “ordered them on Amazon because he liked them.”
She added that the 19-year-old is not a terrorist, but “like a child. Immature, ignorant.”
According to previously released evidence, the suspect had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State and had recently resigned from his job, announcing that he had “big plans”.
