On April 20, 2023, a spectacular total solar eclipse was witnessed in Exmouth, Australia, a coastal town known for its beautiful beaches and marine life. This event occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking the bright solar disk and revealing the Sun’s outer atmosphere, or corona. The stunning corona can be seen extending away from the Sun as white streamers and, in this image, a solar prominence can be seen in the lower left part of the corona. A towering structure of solar material suspended above the Sun by magnetic fields. The next opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse will be on April 8, 2024, with its path crossing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
