The 17-year-old Czech star did not start the match well when she could not lean on her serve. During the opening three games, she made four double faults, so it is not surprising that the Croatian quickly and almost without problems took a 3-0 lead.
Fruhvirtová showed that the match would not be a simple affair, when she used the third chance to break and won her first game. But the joy lasted only a short time for the young Czechs, as they failed to hold serve again and the deficit grew again.
On the next serve, Fruhvirtová again did not forgive four broken serves in a row and offered her opponent a set point, but she did not convert it. At 5:2, however, the Croatian added to the set and won it 6:2 in the Margaret Court Arena.
