Australian Open qualifiers delayed due to fire – Australian Open

-

The Australian Open organizers delayed the start of qualifying matches Wednesday in Melbourne because of the toxic fumes caused by the monster fires east of the city.

Qualifying matches will not start before 1 p.m. local time (3 a.m. in France), one hour later than scheduled, and training is also suspended. The first Grand Slam tournament of the season is set to start on Monday.
