Djokovic revoked his visa upon arrival in Australia and is currently in quarantine facility in Melbourne. The leader of the world rankings turned to the court in an effort to reverse the decision on deportation from the country. The court prevented his immediate expulsion. The case will continue on Monday at 10.00 local time (00.00 CET).

According to lawyers, the Serb had his first positive PCR test on December 16. However, the nine-time Australian Open champion did not announce it publicly. “Fourteen days after the positive test, Novak Djokovic did not have fevers or respiratory symptoms of COVID-19. On January 1, he received permission from the immigration authorities to enter Australia,” his lawyers stated in a public document.

According to the AFP agency, Djokovic asked to move to a facility where he could train before the inaugural grand slam tournament, which begins on January 17.
