In long exchanges, Menšík lost the first set in a tie-break with a ratio of 4: 7, but he managed the end of the second set better and won the tie-break 8: 6. At the beginning of the third set, the fourth seed Menšík lost with a tournament number one of 0: 2, but he leveled at 2: 2, and since then both players have been in service.

At the end of the match, Menšík began to have cramps in his thigh muscles. Encouraged by Roland Garros winner Barbora Krejčíková in the auditorium, however, he fought to the last.

At 5: 5, he did not use breakball and had an increasing problem with movement. At 5: 6, he made the exchange at 30:30, after which he lay down on his stomach on the ground and could not get up due to pain in his left thigh muscle.

In the end, he succeeded, due to a time delay, he lost the first service and put the second in the network. He also made a double mistake at the match. Then he fell to the ground again and was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.

Menšík thus did not become the second Czech winner of the junior singles in Melbourne. Only Jiří Veselý was the only one to succeed in 2011.
