Australian mining company Iris Energy will increase its Bitcoin mining capacity to 10 EH/s after purchasing new miners from Bitmain.

The company entered into an agreement with a Chinese manufacturer to purchase 8380 Antminer T21 for $22.3 million. Shipment is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.
Miners will cost the company $14 per TH/s. According to Hashrate Indexmarket quotes for devices with energy consumption levels of less than 25 J/TH are at the time of writing $13.54 per TH/s.
Iris Energy intends to deploy the new machines at its facility in Childress, Texas.
In October, the company announced the purchase of 7,000 latest-generation Antminer S21 devices for $19.6 million.
Iris Energy previously invested $10 million in the latest generation of Nvidia GPUs for generative AI and mining.
Let us recall that in December, Phoenix Group announced the conclusion of a contract for $380 million with the manufacturer of devices for mining Bitcoin under the Whatsminer brand – MicroBT.
