One of Australia’s most famous media personalities, Alan Jones, was arrested this morning. The 83-year-old former radio presenter and former rugby coach was arrested by a special branch of the police which deals with the abuse or ill-treatment of young people.
Australian police say Alan Jones was arrested in his swanky apartment in central Sydney after a “long and thorough” investigation.
He is suspected of inappropriate behavior and assault, but has not yet been charged. Jones himself has always maintained his innocence.
Between 2001 and 2019
An Australian arrest team specializing in child abuse and child abuse cases has arrested Jones. According to the police, the cases in which Jones is suspected have occurred between 2001 and 2019. The Sydney Morning Herald the alleged victims are underage boys. The police investigated the case in complete secrecy, the newspaper writes.
Police expect more alleged victims to come forward now that Jones has been arrested.

83-year-old Alan Jones is one of Australia’s most famous and respected media personalities.
