Australian bride heartbroken after massive fire destroys her wedding venue just weeks before she was due to walk down the aisle – Agen BRILink and BRI – Agenbrilink.net

A heartbroken bride could not put two and two together after seeing flames and thick black smoke coming from the direction of her wedding venue.

The 99-year-old ‘The Lussh’ venue was destroyed after a massive fire broke out in a warehouse in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Nurse Madison Sullivan, 33, and several colleagues were monitoring the fire that came from Woolloongabba, in the south of the city.

“It makes sense, but I don’t think it will,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

She and her partner of more than five years, Nathan Crawford, 37, were ready to welcome 105 guests for their wedding at the venue on October 26.

Sullivan told Daily Mail Australia that after planning her perfect wedding for over a year, she was now worried they wouldn’t be able to afford new vendors.

“(I’m) frustrated and hoping for the best. “It’s still very new and still in the early stages after the fire,” he said.

‘I hope and pray that we have dealers and financially we can make it happen.’

Brisbane couple Nathan Crawford, 37, and Madison Sullivan had been planning their perfect wedding for more than a year before their wedding venue was burnt down on Wednesday.

Mr Crawford said they knew at least ten couples who planned to hold their weddings at The Lussh before it was demolished this week.

Trying to find a new place in the middle of a major crisis is difficult despite the help of friends

‘People book these things a year in advance like us and try to put everyone in a new place… it’s like trying to squeeze blood from a stone,’ he explained Mr. Crawford.

“A number of new guests were able to attend on 26 October, and many also joined from international and interstate.

“They’ve already booked hotels and flights, changing the date at that time would have a big impact with so many high profile concerts in town.

“I came home from work and saw a few calls on my phone, one of them came in real time from my male best friend just saying ‘please call me’, we FaceTimed. He looked at my face and said, “No one has spoken to you yet”.

‘He said to me: ‘There’s no way to break this to you, my friend is just being led by An Lus… he’s on fire, he’s going to burn’.

She called her boyfriend immediately to tell him the bad news but she couldn’t reach him because he was working in a busy hospital ward.

“I told him that our wedding venue was on fire. He kept saying “no, no”, he was devastated,’ said Crawford.

The couple have not heard from The Lussh yet but they understand that the team is working with a client who is getting married this weekend.

‘Wow, this sucks,’ wrote the Lussh team on social media.

“We are devastated by the events of this afternoon and are extremely grateful that our team is safe. Our hearts go out to the Woolloongabba community and everyone affected by the fire that broke out in a nearby building today.

‘We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize your access to scheduled events in the coming days and weeks.’

The fire in the abandoned warehouse was reportedly fueled by several mattresses inside and one person suffered ‘severe smoke inhalation’.

The fire caused the roof of the affected building to collapse and police declared an exclusion zone due to concerns that chemicals were being stored in the warehouse.

The Lussh – which is listed as ‘temporarily closed’ online – is described as ‘a unique, restored wedding barn set on the cliffs of Woolloongabba’.
