As of today, Austria is largely locked again to reduce the number of corona cases. Only supermarkets, drugstores and pharmacies are allowed to remain open. The catering industry must be closed and events must be canceled. In addition, people are only allowed to leave their home for essential things, such as shopping or a visit to the doctor. Schools will remain open, but parents are urged to provide home education as much as possible.
The lockdown will in principle apply until December 12. After that, the lockdown will continue to apply to people who have not been vaccinated. The government wants a vaccination obligation to apply from 1 February next year at the latest. Parliament still has to pass a law for this. A lockdown was already in place for people who have not been vaccinated.
The police have announced that there will be a lot of checking.
