Australia has acquired a revolutionary drone

Australia’s drone Loyal Wingman has made its first flight, and Canberra will soon have a rather curious weapon. The drone has an artificial intelligence and a modular nose that can be replaced according to various missions.

Initially, the drone will be able to be used for reconnaissance and protection of manned aircraft. Loyal Wingman will be able to emit stronger radar and infrared signals, as well as use other types of equipment to attract missiles fired by the enemy, protecting the aircraft around which it flies.

The drone will be able to participate in joint missions with the F-35A, F / A-18F and E-7A. Partial control can be performed by the attached aircraft, but the main work is entrusted to artificial intelligence.

Behind the project is Boeing, which has worked with 35 other Australian engineering teams.

The drone can fly at high speeds, which, however, have not been revealed. Its range with a full tank is known to be 3,700 kilometers. Experts say that its forms hide stealth capabilities that make it ideal for intelligence.

One of the modules also includes a powerful radar to increase the capabilities of the fighter to the aircraft.

It is very likely that in the future the drone will get its own armed version.
