Since the global pandemic by COVID-19 began, there have been significant decreases in gas emissions, due to the lack of activity in cities. But during the same year of the beginning of the confinement, Australia suffered huge fires foresters who had the world in suspense.
The study was conducted by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in the United States. Their conclusion was that both phenomena had an effect on climate change, but one of them was much more intense, according to the scientists.
“The main culprit for 2020 climate change was not COVID-19 at all“John Fasullo, lead author of the new study, said in a statement,”It was the wildfire explosion in Australia.”
