Australia won the three-match ODI series against West Indies. Australia won the second match at the SCG Cricket Stadium by 83 runs.
Kangarupada scored 258 runs for the loss of nine wickets against West Indies who won the toss and chose to bowl. In reply, Windies collapsed for 175 runs in 43.3 overs.
Sean Abbott scored 69 runs from 63 balls including four sixes and a boundary for Australia who batted first. The all-rounder led the team to a good score after the top line was broken. Matt Shott scored 41 runs from 55 balls while Cameron Green scored 33 runs from 41 balls including a six and five boundaries.
West Indies, who came out to bat in reply, faced challenges from the start. Captain Shai Hope scored 29 runs, KC Carty scored 40 runs and Roston Chase scored 25 runs. They were the only ones to find the highest score for the team.
It was the Australian bowling line that pulled the Windies. Josh Hazel, Wood Seanabout and others took three wickets each. Will Sutherland also got two wickets.
For West Indies, Al Zari, Joseph Romario Shepherd and others took two wickets each while Gudkesh Moti took three wickets. The red rubber match of the series will be played at Manuka Oval on February 6.
