UPDATE 11.25 Deputy Dan Tanasă claimed, on Wednesday, that the objects found on the AUR collaborator who was stopped at the entrance to the Parliament were souvenirs, accusing the press of “artificially” inflaming non-subjects.
“That’s a lie. You need to see the definition of bullets first. No, they’re not bullets. We need to see what a bullet means, what does an iron object mean. I haven’t talked to you. We need to see exactly what the definition is bullet and what is the definition of a metal object. From here, let’s make statements that they are machine guns, that they are… It would have come, it would have… It is an object that is often found, a souvenir, a… (…) I agree that he had nothing to look for with those things after her, but from here to saying that those were bullets and matters of a criminal nature, these are simply manipulations and fabrications. There is no no criminal element in this matter,” said Tanasă, at the Parliament, writes Agerpres.
Asked by journalists if he didn’t see anything abnormal, Dan Tanasă answered: “It’s a prop like this that many people have. Oh, he shouldn’t have come here with it, yes. The idea is that we artificially inflame some subjects that are non-subjects”. According to the deputy, the woman was taken to the Police, not because it is a criminal case, but because “it is a standard procedure”.
On the other hand, he said that Wednesday’s protest at the Parliament is “normal”. “People are protesting in the street because they are frustrated, they are dissatisfied. It is a lie that people cannot enter. (…) No one is trying to block anything, they are protesting around the Parliament building. No one blocked, stop lying! Access is blocked by the Gendarmerie, the rules are not made by AUR”, he told the journalists, whom he accused of manipulating an event related to “non-news”.
UPDATE 11.10 The police have opened a criminal case in this case.
Ariadna Cîrligeanu was interviewed for two hours at Police Station 17 and then left.
The woman will be investigated in a state of freedom, no action being taken against her.
UPDATE 10.45 The PNL spokesperson, Ionuţ Stroe, says that he has warned countless times that AUR is a dangerous, extremist party whose agenda is to promote hatred and division. He shows that the members of the AUR are not the first to try to introduce prohibited objects into the Parliament and that, a few years ago, they tried with drugs, today with bullets. “What’s next, a machine gun?”, asks Stroe.
UPDATE 10.30 The woman who tried to enter the Parliament with four bullets is the head of the youth organization of the AUR party. It is about Ariadna Cîrligeanu, a close relative of George Simion, a young woman who is in the front line at the party rallies, according to the information obtained by Digi24.
UPDATE 10.20 Ludovic Orban declared that he was assaulted by AUR demonstrators while trying to enter the courtyard of the Palace of Parliament, near the entrance to the Chamber of Deputies.
UPDATE 10.00 An AUR protest takes place on Wednesday at the Parliament, during which the demonstrators clashed with the gendarmes. The Romanian Gendarmerie announced that the protest was illegal but that the demonstrators refused to leave.
UPDATE 9.15 Ionuț Moșteanu, the leader of the USR deputies, told Digi24 that he proposed that the dignitaries also go through the security control.
“I can have a dedicated gate. At the entrance of the parliamentarians, there is one that has never been used.
We must not make room for extremism, it harms society,” declared Moșteanu.
UPDATE 9.10″It is an extremely serious incident and must be treated as such,” Alfred Simionis, leader of the PSD group, told Digi24.
“Why would you bring bullets to Parliament so that expertise is needed?
You have seen the sick behavior of some AUR representatives. No one convinces me that they are not aggressive,” said Simionis.
UPDATE 9.05 “The bullets were empty and rusty as far as we know, but we would like the authorities to say that, as we do not know and do not have the expertise”, the leader of the AUR, George Simion, said on the formation’s official group with the press.
UPDATE 9.00 AUR representatives ask the authorities to immediately clarify this incident.
They also ask for a technical expertise to clarify the technical condition of the objects found.
“The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) requests the competent authorities to urgently clarify the incident that happened at the Romanian Parliament in which a party employee was involved.
We ask the competent institutions for a technical expertise to clarify the technical condition of the objects in question.
At the same time, we ask the authorities to organize a press conference, as soon as possible, in which to fully clarify this subject”, AUR transmitted.
