As “Delfi” informs the representatives of the group, the lyrics of folk songs are used in the songs, which reflect the typical developments of that time. Musically, you can hear the melodies of Latvian folk songs as well as original music by Edgars Kārklas, Kaspars Bārbals and Mārtiņus Miļevskis.
“We created this album as a conceptual continuation of the summer solstice album “Sit, Jānīti”, which premiered this summer at the Valmiermuiža ethnic music festival. We plan to organize winter concerts next year, but this ‘year we invite you to listen to “Auulis” on all streaming platforms,” says Kaspars, member of the band “Auļi” Barbal.
Drummers Edgars Kučiks, Mārtiņš Miļevskis, Kaspars Indrēvics, Edgars Krūmins, bassist Gatis Valters, bagpipers Normunds Vaivads, Leanne Barbo, Kaspars Bārbals, Edgars Kārklis and Gatis Indrēvics participated in the recording of the album. A special place in the sound of the new album is occupied by a unique four-string guitar specially built for “Auliaim”, handcrafted by maestro Rihards Walters, whose wild sound is tamed by virtuoso cellist Miķelis Dobičins. The lyrical songs are enhanced by the harp played by Ilze Grunte and the panduri, a Georgian stringed instrument.
Singers Asnate Rancāne, Katrīna Dimanta and Beāte Zviedre, as well as Otaņki’s ethnographic ensemble participated in the recording of the album.
In addition, the voices of “Auļu” Mārtiņus Miļevskis, Edgars Kārklas, Gats Walters, Kaspars Bārbals, Andrejs Planders, as well as Eduards Plankājs and Edgars Zilberts can be heard.
“Ľekātās” is already the fourth studio album of “Auļu”, which can be heard in “Dolby Atmos” sound format.
