“Especially for the concert program “The Power of Nine Men”, in cooperation with the master Rihards Walters, we have created a new big drum, which is even bigger than the previous one. The process of creating the drum could be watched on “Auļu” social networks, and it will be seen and heard at our concerts,” reveals drummer Kaspars Indrēvics, while the band member – video operator and piper Gatis Indrēvics – says: “As a member of “Auļi”, it has always been important for me to create impressive music videos alongside music, where the peculiarities of drums and bagpipes and the beauty of Latvian nature are highlighted. The video works I have created will be an expressive addition to the live performance of “Auļi” on tour.”

The group “Auļi” was founded in May 2003, when Mikus Čavarts brought together the most active bagpipe and snare drum players in Latvia at that time. The name of the group also has two meanings: galloping horses, which we associate with drum rhythms, and galloping as an ancient beehive wound on a tree. A bagpipe-like hum can be heard in the sound of bees.
During these years, the composition of “Auļu” has changed a little, and there has also been an impressive collaboration with other musicians, but currently the active composition of “Auļu” includes drummers Kaspars Indrēvics, Mārtiņš Miļevskis, Edgars Krūmiņš, Edgars Kučiks, pipers Kaspars Bārbals, Edgars Kārklis, Leanne Barbo, Gatis Indrēvics, Normunds Vaivads, bassist Gatis Valters and singer Andrejs Planders.
