In August it will probably be warm and sunny in the Netherlands, just like in July. It may also be drier than normal according to European models, reports Weather Plaza. It is likely that the 30 degrees will be tapped locally.
It is not possible to say with certainty about the weather for the next thirty days. However, it is easy to estimate whether it will be warmer, just as warm or colder than average for the time of year, says meteorologist Diana Woei of Weerplaza.
In the first ten days of August we have to deal with a south-westerly current, which transports warm air to the Netherlands. As a result, the average temperature in that period is about 1 to 3 degrees higher than the normal value of about 20 degrees. Days where it will be around 25 and even 30 degrees are not excluded.
In the second ten-day period of August, we expect to see the same picture. But then the temperature will be determined by an easterly flow resulting from a high pressure area over the UK.
In the third ten days of August it will be slightly cooler. Then the average temperature is expected to be around 18 degrees. At the end of that period, the temperature seems to be rising again for the time being.
It is impossible to say with certainty when it will be dry, when showers will fall and which days will become very hot, says Woei. You can if you look at the coming week.
Monday first drizzle rain, then summer heat again
Monday will be cloudy in large parts of the country, with some drizzle in the southeast of the country. The average temperature is 23 degrees.
It will be warmer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A south-westerly wind then carries warm air over our country, making it possible to reach 25 to 27 degrees in the afternoon in most provinces. It will be warmer in the southeast and east. Temperatures of up to 31 degrees are expected in Limburg.
Heavy rain or thunderstorms may develop in the center of the country on Thursday. They can cause a lot of precipitation locally.
From Friday it will be slightly cooler due to a high pressure area above the United Kingdom with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees. Those temperatures are normal for the time of year, Woei explains.
