Starting from the Covid-19 Vaccine to Measles
DISTRICTS, Jawa Pos Radar Mojokerto – Children with comorbidities are required to complete two doses of Covid-19 vaccination during the implementation of the National Child Immunization Month (BIAS) in August. In the district, there are still thousands of children aged 6-11 years who have not been touched by the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.
Head of Surveillance and Immunization in the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of the Mojokerto Regency Health Office, Ida Pawasti, said that of the total target of children aged 6-11 years as many as 100,461 children, the realization of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination has only touched 94,870 children. ”There have been 94.4 percent of the achievements. There are still six percent homework or about 5,681 children who have not been vaccinated,” he said.
He continued, these 5,681 children must immediately be vaccinated against the first dose of Covid-19 during the BIAS month. Especially, for those who have comorbidities such as chronic kidney disease, autoimmune disease, chronic lung disease, and obesity. However, the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination must still include a certificate from a doctor. ”We do not have data on how many children with comorbidities. What is clear is that in August we will start re-vaccinating Covid-19 in schools,” he explained.
The former Head of Referral Health Services in the District Health Office Yankes said that in the implementation of BIAS Month later, his party will not only monitor the immunization status of toddlers. But also check the vaccination status of children aged 6-11 years. ”All our children intensify immunization in August. If the toddlers are focused on measles and rubella, the student age is monitored for the Covid vaccine,” he explained. Meanwhile, the number of target children under five included in the BIAS month list in 18 sub-districts was recorded at 62,275.
Still, Ida said, his party has coordinated with health facilities for the implementation of BIAS month later. Meanwhile, for toddlers, the implementation is directly carried out at the posyandu. Meanwhile, for children aged 6-11 years, it will be held at their respective schools or directed to the puskesmas. ”Later, conditionally, children aged 6-11 years can go directly to the puskesmas or pick up the ball to school. It depends on the number of health workers on duty,” he said. (oce/fen)
