August Hole: Will Prices for Holidays on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast Drop?

In the midst of the holiday month of August, do prices for holidays on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast drop?

Today the sea is very rough, the flag is red, and the lifeguards do not allow entry into the water. In recent weeks, there has been a real crowd of tourists in Sunny Beach.

“This is the largest resort not only in Bulgaria, but also on the entire Black Sea coast. It is unique, it is impossible to see such a thing in Northern Greece, which is highly praised. There are 550,000 beds here, until last week, almost at 70%, they are already less, as from today we already fall into the so-called August hole. Our forecasts are that there will be tourists until the first week of October,” commented Rumen, the head of the Institute for Analyzes and Evaluations in Tourism, to bTV Draganov, who is also resting in the resort, also doing surveillance.

“From next weekend, a drop in prices for overnight stays at the sea will be observed from 20 to 30%. If until now a person could rest for four days for a given price, now he will be able to rest for seven days for the same price,” pointed out Vladimir Marinov from The Regional Tourist Chamber in Burgas.

He pointed out that for a family with two children, a one-week vacation on the Southern Black Sea coast would now cost about BGN 700 in a family hotel just for overnight stays, and with all-inclusive the price would reach BGN 2,500.

In Sunny Beach, a grill with beer costs BGN 11, and it will cost the same in September, Rumen Draganov said.

“We expect vacationers to reach 5.1 million this summer alone. I’m talking to people who are already at sea for the third time, which means that in September they can come once or twice more – they take short intensive holidays,” he also commented.
