It is important to note that the owner of the vehicle must pay all fines that are in court and penalties and interest to redeem the vehicle. Towed vehicles are sold at auction if not redeemed after ten business days from the date.
The proceeds of the auction, after expenses, are used to pay off the judgment debt. Expenses may include running fees ($80), poundage, storage, grouting, towing, advertising costs, auctioneer, and plate removal. All vehicles are sold “as is” and must be picked up from where they are located by the buyer.

How to participate in a car auction
Before you offer to buy one of the cars in the auction, keep in mind that bidders should be prepared to pay for any vehicle they buy as soon as they place the winning (highest) bid.
Payments must be made in cash. Anyone not willing to pay immediately should not bid. Also, some cars may have a lien on them. Buyers purchase the right, title and interest in a vehicle, subject to any and all recorded liens.

It is important to remember that the Sheriff is not responsible for notifying bidders of liens on vehicles. “A vehicle subject to a lien remains subject to the lien after the sale. Any vehicle with a lien may be subject to repossession by the lien holder.
All vehicles are sold “as is” and must be picked up from where they are located by the buyer. That’s why potential buyers are always encouraged to do their own research on the history of the vehicles they want to bid on.

Finance and the Sheriff make no warranty, express or implied, as to the year of any vehicle or the quality or condition of repair of any vehicle.
Are there any safety recalls on the vehicles being auctioned?
The Sheriff is not responsible for the functionality, safety and recalls of auctioned vehicles. Potential buyers are strongly encouraged to do their own research on the history of the vehicles they wish to bid on. Vehicle safety recall information can be researched at the Official site.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) site allows you to enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to find out if a specific vehicle has not been repaired as part of a safety recall in the last 15 years. .

If the vehicle has parking tickets from the previous owner, am I responsible?
Buyers are not responsible for any outstanding parking tickets that were issued to the previous registered owner of the vehicle.
