Augsburg panthers lose in Corona quarantine in Krefeld – Munich

After the emotionally charged derby win against Munich, the Augsburg Panthers suffered a defeat on Sunday. Decisive for the 1: 3 were, among other things, a weak start third and a poor exploitation of opportunities.

The Bayern derby had everything that his ice hockey game needed, but it also cost forces. If you had seen the first third of the Augsburg panthers on Sunday in Krefeld, you could at least develop this view. Without the already known injuries and defender Valentine, who was banned for two games after Friday’s match penalty, little came together at AEV. After goals from Tiffles, Blank and Sabolic, the penguins had already moved away after twenty minutes, not undeservedly. While you had to take the goals too easily, you missed good opportunities on the other hand. The AEV struggled honestly, came into play better in the further course and a number of opportunities. Saponoari was able to reduce the game to 1: 3 in the 47th minute of the game, but nothing more was possible that evening. Against the Rhinelander and their keeper Quapp, who was in good spirits that evening, Augsburg failed to score for the first time after four games. Already on Wednesday the Swabians have the chance to do better again, then Berlin comes to the Curt-Frenzel-Stadion (7:30 p.m.).

Munich under corona quarantine

Munich, on the other hand, has completely different concerns than the points left behind in Augsburg on Friday. As the club from the state capital announced, several players and people from the coaching and support staff tested positive for Covid-19. The responsible health department had therefore quarantined the entire team. Some active players were already missing in the derby at the AEV, now it seems clear why. After the situation in Upper Bavaria became known, the Augsburgers stepped up the tests, but have so far not found any abnormalities.
