The wet weather forecasts also have a strong impact on numerous events that are or were planned for the weekend. The Aufsteirern will definitely take place – after all, there is a large tent roof on the main square. In Seiersberg-Pirka, however, the premiere of the first street food market has been postponed. The event will therefore not take place this weekend as planned, but from October 18th to 20th. You can already celebrate on October 6th at the first wine festival on the main square. In Thal, it has been decided to cancel the family festival planned for September 14th due to the bad weather or storm forecasts. All advance tickets remain valid for the 2025 family festival.
Bad weather: the pig pile moves indoors
Awful weather, even for the “Sauhaufen”: The largest gathering of local crews in the Postgarage, organized by the team of the former “Niesenberger”, had to adjust its program on Friday due to the weather. A part of the event was planned to take place outdoors in the Rösselmühlpark in front of the Postgarage with free admission, but that has now been canceled. “We are moving the outdoor program indoors,” says Matthias Maurer. Part of it will now take place in the Postgarage Café, the rest will continue on all three floors of the Postgarage. A total of 14 live acts and 42 DJs from different crews and labels from Graz will offer an overview of the Graz scene and DJ sets with extraordinary back2back sets. A team will put the artists together to form new teams, making sure to bring together people who harmonize musically but have previously had little or nothing to do with each other. “A great showcase from our city with techno, bass, hip-hop, footwork, drum & bass, halftime, house, jungle, disco, house and much more,” says the description.
Urban Art Festival Styria: Finale in the underground car park
The Urban Art Festival Styria, which will be coming to a close on Friday after a week, has also had to be rescheduled. The end of the street art festival, in which international artists worked on walls in the city, was actually planned to be celebrated on Friday evening from 6 p.m. at the Stadtbalkon. Students without a teacher, Dave & the Coverdudes and Sladoled Lovekomet will perform and there will be a world music jam session by Erasmus+ students. Due to the bad weather, the celebration was moved to the underground car park of the STUWO Student City Graz.
Rave demo apparently postponed until next week
On Saturday, the “Bass against Hate” demonstration was also scheduled to take place in Graz, starting at Lendplatz and marching together to the city park. “Together for social diversity, space for culture and a good life for all” and “Not an inch to fascism!” are the messages that are to be spread, accompanied by the sounds of many DJs from the Graz scene. According to reports, this event has also been postponed until next week, but official confirmation is still pending.
