Lucerne is a popular city. With its picturesque corners and landmarks such as the water tower, the chapel bridge and the lion monument, it attracts people from all corners of the world. It is therefore not surprising that in the past decades and centuries, in addition to numerous ordinary tourists, many important personalities have strolled through the streets of the city of Lucerne. And still do to this day.
It may be that visitors to the Glacier Garden suddenly come across tennis star Roger Federer (zentralplus reported). If you like music more than tennis, you’ll find what you’re looking for in the Tribschen. Here, those interested can follow in the footsteps of the German composer Richard Wagner, who lived in a house for six years that is now used as a museum. The writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe also visited the city and stayed in what is now the Hotel Lubo on Rössligasse in Lucerne’s old town. A lettering on the facade still bears witness to this “event”.
