Audrey Dormeau and Fabien Standaert, candidates for departmental elections in the canton of Chartres 1

It was in front of the Soutine college in Saint-Perst, under the competence of the Department, that they chose to present their candidacy for the elections of June 20 and 27. The heads of the list, Audrey Dormeau (40 years old) and Fabien Standaert (29 years old), replaced by Doune Godin (69 years old) and Gaël Garreau (45 years old), hope to instill the renewal that the canton Chartres 1 and the departmental council need , in their eyes. “Both in the faces and in the practices”, highlights Fabien Standaert, elected municipal in Chartres, since 2014.

An institution that needs to make itself known

These candidates measure the knowledge deficit of this departmental institution. A vagueness in the minds of the inhabitants which they explain by the blurring of the geographical borders born of the last redistribution of the cantons and the blurring of the competences due to the fact that the same elected officials are found in the Department and in the Chartres agglomeration.

“Youth, efficiency and voluntarism”

The quartet, which enters the campaign under the flag “Eure-et-Loir land of progress! ”, With“ youth, efficiency and voluntarism ”as a driving force, praising other values. “Integrity, transparency in the management of public money,” cites Audrey Dormeau, archivist and municipal councilor in Champhol, where she has been elected since 2014, as an example.

A constructive and collective spirit

Doing collective work is the credo of this team. The same spirit will continue to animate them if they are elected departmental councilors in an assembly where they will not have a majority. Just like their “constructive” positioning, as they define it, in the municipal councils where they sit on the benches of the “minority”, refuting the term opposition too closed for their taste.

“You have to know how to go beyond dogmatic postures. What should guide all political action is common sense and the defense of the general interest. Our quartet embodies all that ”.

Gaël Garreau (Municipal councilor in Chartres and parliamentary attaché to deputy Guillaume Kasbarian)

The next step for these candidates is the presentation of the program, built in a humanist spirit, dear to Doune Godin, retired and former elected in Saint-Perst. This will sweep away all the skills of the Department, such as social, roads, and will also have a strong ecological footprint. Here again, this electoral project will meet a requirement summarized by Audrey Dormeau: “We do not do sensational politics, we do politics for the inhabitants”.
