The VR dance game “Audio Trip” is coming this week for the Oculus Quest. Owners of the self-sufficient VR glasses can look forward to a rhythmic calorie eater.
Rhythm games and virtual reality seem to be made for each other. No matter whether with shields, such as in the VR classic audio shield, or with lightsabers, such as in Beat Saber (test) – Thrashing rhythmically on glowing flying objects is obviously a recipe for success.
Audio Trip even lets you dance properly and requires full physical effort. In the upcoming Oculus Quest version, there will be no more cables.
Audio Trip: This awaits you in the VR dance arena
In Audio Trip you move your whole body to the beat of the music. You stretch out your arms to touch approaching objects or follow a trail of glowing ribbons with your hands. You avoid obstacles or hit virtual drums. If you carry out the movements correctly and move your hips, there are considerable dance moves, as in the following video.
A professional dancer helped developer studio Kinemotik Studios with the choreography. The soundtrack includes music by Lady Gaga, Skrillex, Zedd or Deadmau5. If you have mastered the given dances, you can design your own choreographies thanks to an integrated editor and share them with friends.
New song & choreography contest to start on the Oculus Quest
With the start on the Oculus Quest the developers donate you a new song. Tolan’s “Golden Pineapple” is now part of the playlist. In addition, a choreography contest starts, which is endowed with a total prize money of 1,750 US dollars.
