The company seems to have been inspired by the Telegram audio player when developing this function, since the alternative messaging application to WhatsApp has included a “global” audio player for several years. The currently available WhatsApp voice memo player is quite limited, especially since the sound stops playing when you exit the chat.

From this player, you can pause or resume audio playback, or close it.
